Skype Out is now free to call anyone in the US and Canada - any telephone, be it land line or mobile. This is truelly revolutionary. I am waiting to see what the big boys - like Verizon and Bell South and even Vonage will do to conteract this. It looks like they already have a plan. Thats right - just make it illegal to offer free calling. Can you imagine how different the business landscape will be in 200 years. Technology eliminates entire Tiers of Companies.
There's a long held scientific fact that you can't make energy from nothing.
In laymen's terms that means that you can't make energy from nothing.
So I have always wondered just how hybrid cars were supposed to be so great. Simply putting a battery and an electric engine in them made them so much more energy efficient.
You didn't have to plug them in (which would only make them more efficient depending on how your power company creates the electricity), and they didn't have solar panels...
Then I read about how the regenerative braking system was the secret. This system is able to convert, into electricity, the heat (or energy, or, as Toyota and Honda call it, momentum) created by the friction between the brake pads and rotors when the car is slowing down. Because the car has a battery it's able to capture that electricity. A car running on gas can't capture that energy. (You could cook dinner on your rotors after commuting home, or more realistically use your engine)
My Space, a social networking web ring, continues to grow. It is a great place to see what is up with former classmates, work mates, or just old friends. Kind of like classmates.com except its FREE, and has a craigslist.org feel to it.
Has anyone else setup a myspace account and page? It seems alot like geocities in its heyday with out so much html coding.
Microsoft has created the next Newton, or as people not as computer dorkified as me, a technological paperweight. It is an interesting product, uses some advanced technology, and can do some pretty amazing things, but it is just too big to fit the pocket, and just to small to use as your home pc. Just becuase we have HD content and widescreen, doesnt mean we want to have to carry it around without sliding it in our pocket.
I would have never thought of this product, it allows a woman to stand at the thrown. I think the real test will be to see if women put the seat back down.
I always thought women should feel relieved when they walk into a bathroom and the seat is still up. At least then the man who has gone before her hasn't pissed all over it.
They should make a toilet seat that goes up like the foot controlled trash can lids. A little pad on the floor that men can press with their foot and the toilet seat pops up, and then goes back down when they step off...
